Job Summary
A CNC Operator is responsible for operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to manufacture precision components as per engineering drawings and production plans. The role involves machine setup assistance, tool monitoring, quality checks, and ensuring safe and efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines (Turning / Milling / VMC / HMC) as per job instructions
- Load and unload raw materials and finished components
- Monitor machine operations and make basic offsets or adjustments
- Read and understand engineering drawings and work instructions
- Measure components using gauges, vernier calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Perform in-process and final quality inspections
- Maintain production records and report deviations
- Follow safety, quality, and 5S standards on the shop floor
- Support preventive maintenance and basic machine cleaning
Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of CNC machining processes
- Understanding of drawings and tolerances
- Familiarity with measuring instruments
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Willingness to work in shifts
- Discipline, safety awareness, and teamwork
